Nursery school teacher (m/f/other) position available for bilingual (German/English) kindergarten and bilingual infant daycare centre in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, full time – part time

You are

  • a state-approved nursery school teacher or
  • a graduate of one of the Berlin colleges of social or therapeutic education, colleges offering courses in social work/social education, childcare and childhood education or therapeutic education or you have
  • a university degree from another country in childhood education, social work / social education (B.A.), therapeutic education (B.A.) and at least German language skills at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

A qualification relating to the teaching profession:

  • a master’s degree with a major in education
  • Bachelor of Arts with a major in education
  • first or second state exam in teaching at a university or teacher training college
  • a degree in psychology (diploma, B.A.)
  • a degree in sports, art, theatre and music education
  • a degree in speech therapy or similar qualification
  • family care worker (for kindergarten only)
  • specialist qualification in language and integration issued by the German Federal “Kindergarten Language” Programme or the previous “Early Opportunities” Programme.
  • paediatric nurse, paediatric care worker, healthcare and paediatric nurse
  • occupational therapist
  • speech therapist
  • sports therapist
  • child care worker (for kindergarten only)
  • remedial therapist without any additional qualifications

AUFGEPASST e.V. operates a bilingual (German-English) infant daycare centre and bilingual kindergarten in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, with a total of 99 places. The educational concept is based on a situational approach and semi-open group work with influences from the Emmi Pikler educational system (in the infant daycare section). As well as bilingual language development for the children, we also focus our educational work on developing social skills (particularly self-awareness and self-confidence), participation, children’s rights and education in democracy and the environment.

Your role will be to

  • look after and support a group of children as a group teacher
  • prepare and carry out targeted activities, projects and celebrations
  • compile development documentation
  • carry out initial interviews, development and consultation discussions 
  • further develop the concept
  • introduce your own personal strengths, hobbies and preferences
  • prepare for mealtimes and clear up afterwards, domestic tasks
  • take part in team and staff meetings, further training
  • help to organise parents’ evenings

  • state-approved nursery school teacher or socio-educational expert
  • interest in intensive educational work in the “golden age” (1-7 years old) and in supporting children in the long term

  • ready to take on responsibility and to acquire new skills in key areas
